In spite of Italy’s woeful exit from EURO 24 in Germany, Luciano Spatelli has his job intact as coach.
The Italian Football Federation said he would still be in charge of the boys dazed 2-0 by Switzerland for the upcoming World Cup.
So uninspiring were the Italians that they they barely qualified for the round of 16, by savaging a draw from Croatia at the late minute’s of seconds half with a goal scored by Mattia Zaccagni.
It was from a beautiful pass from Riccardo Calafioro, the Bologna Side back.
They faced Switzerland at the Olympiastadion Berlin stadium in Germany and lost flatly 2 goals to nil- as scored by Remo Freuler and Ruben Vargas.
Spatelli has no blame for his boys as he believes they only played the level the team are.
He saw the development as part of their rebuilding process but vowed he would need more rugged players going forward.
