German coach Julian Nalgesmann and his boys on Saturday night sent their team to the Quarter Finals of the Euro ’24 with an astonishing win over semi finalist of 2020 Euro, Denmark.

The match started swiftly with Germany pressing from the start  till they got an early goal which was, however, cancelled by VAR due to an infringement.

They dominated the first half with more possessions but had problems with their finishing.

Denmark too had a good chance in the first half through Rasmus Hojlund whose hot shot made Germany’s keeper, Manuel Neuer, record a great safe.

About 10 minutes to the end of the half, the match was suspended for a while because of lightning occasioned by downpour.

The sSecond half started well with Germany again but could still not yet secure the needed goals.

Denmark had a corner kick which was converted by J.Andersen but was ruled out for offside by the Var.

Later in the match, Germany launched a counter attack from the left wing, which eventually saw David Raum’s shot hit the ball on  Joachim Andersen’s hand.

This was spotted by the VAR and a penalty was given, which was scored by the Kai .Havertz in the 53rd minute.

Denmark tried another series of bcounter but to no avail as the Antonio Rudiger-led defence gave Germany a clean slate.

In the 68th minute of the match, Germany’s keeper, Manuel Neuer, shot the ball to Jamal Musiala who ended up smashing the net making it two goals to nil.

With the victory, Germany has advanced to the next stage, taking up the winner of Spain vs Georgia match.
