‘Assurance’ singer, Davido, has revealed the wish of his billionaire father, Adeleke, for him.
It is not that he should necessarily become as wealthy as he is but to end up as a gospel artiste.
If this happens, Davido would have gone the way of juju maestro, Chief Ebenezer Obey, and some other Nigerian musicians who left secular arts for the spiritual.
Davido disclosed the father’s wish at his wedding to his long-time partner, Chioma Rowland, on Tuesday.
While chatting with some guests at the star-studded event, Davido said his father told him that he had a vision that he would transition from secular music to gospel music.
“My dad told me, ‘David, I had a vision that you ended your music as a gospel singer,’” Davido revealed in the now-trending video.
