Community impact: Iwaya set to give Edaoto award

The impact of afro singer, Edaoto, on the Iwaya community in Yaba, Lagos, has been recognised as a group based there will present him an award on Saturday, April 20.

He and the group are also using the opportunity to distribute food to the needy in the area.

Apart from selling Iwaya, where he has lived for years, to the world, the multi-talented musician actively participates in community development work. He mentors youths while he is also a voice of wisdom and action in political mobilisation.

Announcing the upcoming programme in a post, an elated Edaoto says: “This *Saturday* my community where I grew up Iwaya-Yaba would be honouring me with an *award* on Saturday the *20th* of April.

It will also be an opportunity to give back to my society as I will be contributing to giving *100 pieces of food palliatives to 100 aged women*.

“I will expect you to please come share this beautiful moment with me.”
