The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero, urged essential commodities traders to lower prices to facilitate Ramadan observance for the masses. He made the plea in Zaria during the launch of Prof. Sa’idu-Mohammed Gusau’s book titled “Dauloli a Kasar Hausa” (Kingdoms in Hausaland).
Ado-Bayero also urged affluent Nigerians to assist the less privileged during Ramadan, praying for their well-being and the acceptance of their prayers and sacrifices.
He praised the book’s publisher for detailing the administrative systems, trades, norms, and values of Hausa Kingdoms in Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Zazzau.
Prof. Ahmed Zaria of Kaduna State University, the book’s reviewer, highlighted its comprehensive narrative on the history, politics, administration, norms, and values of Hausa kingdoms, recommending it as essential for students and researchers in linguistics and history.
He encouraged academics to maintain research endeavors, expressing concern over some professors’ tendency to neglect research after attaining their positions.
The publisher, Prof. Gusau, explained that the book aims to consolidate the written history of Hausa Kingdoms, fostering unity and understanding among them and other Nigerians.
