Zamfara govt commits to entrepreneurship devt

 Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has restated his administration’s commitment to encourage entrepreneurship development in the state.
Lawal stated this during the inauguration of the Annual Zamfara Entrepreneurship Summit, on Saturday in Gusau.
The summit was being organised by a Zamfara-based bussiness group, SUNARS Global Concept.
Represented by Abdulrahman Tumbido, Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Lawal said that entrepreneurship play vital role in driving sustainable social and economic development.
“Entrepreneurship help in job creation among teeming unemployed youths, especially in today’s rapidly changing economic landscape.
“One of the top priorities of my administration is to enhance entrepreneurship development to provide jobs opportunities among the youths in the state.
“My administration initiated viable programmes to promote entrepreneurship development, innovation, and economic growth in our beloved state.
“Zamfara is blessed with abundant natural resources, vibrant culture, a resilient and entrepreneurial population,” he said.
The governor reitrated commitment toward creating enabling business environment to support young entrepreneurs to develop their potentials.
He commended the oraginisers of the event,  adding that, “it will serve as a catalyst for economic growth and development in the state”.
Also speaking, Hauwa Barau, Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, said the summit was designed to expose entrepreneurs in Zamfara and other state to bussiness opportunities.
She said the forum would avail the participants opportunities to have meaningful discussions, share experiences and explore innovative ideas to boost their entrepreneurial skills.
This, she said would foster collaborations, encourage investment and empower entrepreneurs to take their ventures to new height.
According to her, the organisation in collaboration with the Zamfara government and other stakeholders has trained 5,000 youth and women in entrepreneurial skills.
Highlight of the event included paper presentations on entrepreneurship skills and businesses development.
