Pan-Atlantic University Alumni Association (PAUAA), has inaugurated a new set of executives to grow the body and promote the institution.
Mr Austen Osokpor, Head, Communication and Public Relations Committee of PAUAA, disclosed this in a statement made available on Saturday in Lagos.
Osokpor stated that the new executives would be led by renowned broadcaster, Mr Gbemileke Oyinsan, as President.
He said Oyinsan comes with a lot of experience as an all-round media personality with over 20 years experience and expertise in Radio, Television, Advertising and Production.
Osokpor said that Onyebuchi Odianjo, a corporate relations professional in the energy sector, emerged Vice President, while Fumnanya Ochei, a film producer in Nollywood would serve as Secretary.
Osokpor said the Head of Corporate Communications, Ecobank Nigeria, would head the Communication and Public Relations Committee of the association.
Other members of the executive include Mr Efeturi Doghudje, a communications specialist, as Head, Membership Committee and Mr Yusuf Oladejo, Multi-Cloud Support Engineer, as Head, Alumni Chapters Committee.
Also, Ms Ginika Frank-Durugbor, Head, Corporate Communications of Lafarge Africa Plc. was elected Head, Partnerships and Events Committee and Ms Stella Uwaechue, Investor and Media Relationship of Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO), emerged Head of Finance and Fund Raising Committee.
Ms Isioma Elumah, an executive at Guaranty Trust Bank is the Head of Young Alumni Committee, Mr Barinedum Agara, a media and communications professional of the International Organisation for Migration is the association’s Head, Innovation Committee
Mr Opeyemi Olaleye, Partner, OP Africa, a strategic communications firm, will oversee the affairs of all committee heads and ensure optimisation of efforts by its members for PAUAA.
In his inaugural address, Oyinsan said that the new executives are committed to the promotion of the aims and objectives of their alma-mater.
He pledged that the new executive would forge stronger links among the alumni and administrators of the citadel of knowledge.
According to him, the focus of the new executives would evolve strategic engagement in the execution of its programmes.
“PAU over the years has earned a well-deserved reputation, locally and internationally, as an institution that provides world-class education, and this is the propelling force for the association,” he said.
Commenting, Dr Peter Bamkole, Chief Operating Officer, PAU, said that the institution prides itself as a tool-shaping, competent and committed professionals that contribute towards a better society in Nigeria and Africa at large.
“We seek, by deliberate design of our programmes, to inculcate and groom the entrepreneurial spirit in our students.
“The university aims at nurturing individuals who are professionally competent, creative and enterprising for the common good and are able to make free and morally-upright decisions.
“The aim of the 2,700 – member association is the promotion of continuous education and provision of fruitful and sustainable platform for networking among its members,” Bamkole said.
