The Kwara Government has began the construction of Unity Roundabout flyover and diverted vehicular traffic to alternative routes.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Ministry of Works of and Transport Press Secretary, Mr Sam Onile, on Tuesday in Ilorin.
The statement said that vehicular traffic had been diverted from Challenge down to Olak Filling Station to pave the way for the commencement of the construction of the bridge.
“Motorists and other road users are implored to make use of the alternative routes mentioned in the government’s earlier communications.
“The alternative routes include Coca-Cola Road down to Stella Obasanjo and Ahmadu Bello Way to Police Road; UMTCA Church down to Offa Garage.
“Motorists coming from Emir’s road down to Obbo road can make a u-turn at Unity Road towards Coca-Cola Road,” the statement read in part.
According to the statement, the Supervisory Commissioner for the ministry, Mr Abdulquawiy Olododo, apologised to the general public for the inconveniences the project might had caused.
