Sunday Oliseh, former coach and captain of the Super Eagles, has described Super Eagles goalie, Stanley Nwabali, has the country’s football’s new hero.
This is based on his great performance when the team faced South Africa at AFCON on Wednesday.
Nwabali saved two penalty kicks to send the Bafana Bafana packing.
Oliseh praised his composure in between the sticks via his X handle.

”What composure, belief in God and a reassuring smile by our Naija goalkeeper to send us to the AFCON Final. Now I can face my FIFA colleagues with a smile .. ,” Oliseh wrote.
NAN reports that Nigeria sealed their place in the Africa Cup of Nations final after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory against South Africa on Wednesday.
Nigeria will face hosts Côte D’Ivoire in the finals of the event in Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sen. John Owan-Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development has lauded Super Eagles on securing a finals spot at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.
The three-time African champions defeated their South African counterparts 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the first semi- final game at the Stade De Bouake Stadium.
Nigeria had an impressive performance with goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali emerging as Player of the Match following a couple of saves especially in the penalty shootout.
After the game, Owan-Enoh congratulated the team, charging them to bring the trophy home.
