Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Thursday, kept stakeholders guessing after he held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The governor, who is having a frosty relationship with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who is believed to have helped him into office, arrived at the Villa around 5.35 pm, left over an hour later.

He, however, declined to disclose the purpose of his visit to journalists.

When pressed for comments, the governor simply said it was a private visit.

Thursday’s meeting came weeks after the governor met the President alongside his estranged political godfather and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Although the agenda of his visit was not public at the time of filing this report, it may not be unconnected with the political crisis between the governor and the FCT Minister.

President Bola Tinubu had inspired a deal between the warring parties but some emerging issues and comments indicate that all may not be fully well.
