The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday confirmed that its men were in the Head office of the Dangote Group of Companies in Lagos State.
Spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the development, although he did not give details of their mission.
“I can confirm that our men are there, but I can’t comment on the reason for their presence there,” Oyewale said.
It was gathered that the commission’s men began some search in the company by 3pm.
There have been reports that some companies got unauthorised foreign exchange allocations when former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, was in office.
The EFCC has, however, not indicated whether Dangote is among such.
