Kwara community donates office for NSCDC

The Akerebiata Community in Ilorin has donated a Divisional Office for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to help in fighting insecurity in the state.

Malam Tunde Jamogada, the President of Balogun Gambari Ward Development Association, said the building was to appreciate and support the corps in its tireless dedication to the safety and security of the community.

Jamogada noted that officers and men of the division has consistently demonstrated a high level of competency and hard work in handling various security challenges in the community.

He said that the construction of the building was to provide a more conducive working environment for officers and men of the division.

The Balogun Agba of Ilorin Emirate Council, Alhaji Aliyu Adebayo, also praised NSCDC for maintaining law and order, as well as creating a secured environment for the community.

Earlier, the Kwara Commandant of the corps, Mr Umar Mohammed, said that the donation was to bolster security measures and address prevailing challenges in the state.

The commandant described the office as a landmark achievement and appreciated the Balogun Gambari Ward Development Association for their unwavering commitment in ensuring the timely completion of the project.

He emphasised the pivotal role the new office would play in combating emerging security issues in the state.

Mohammed reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commandant officially inaugurated structure to serve as the Akerebiata Divisional Headquarters.
