Dr Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), says continuous review of Nigeria’s security strategies would foster positive results in the fight against insecurity.
Audi said in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by the corps Public Relations Officer, Babawale Afolabi, that there should also be more collaboration among security agencies to combat insecurity.
The CG spoke at a seminar on Interagency collaboration: Strengthening Security for a Safer Nigeria, held in Abuja.
He reiterated the importance of inter-agency partnership in ensuring effective protection of lives and properties.
Audi said that with the ever-evolving nature of security challenges, no security agency could single handedly fight the complexities that comes with insecurity.
He therefore said there was need to collectively generate resources and develop expertise to efficiently address the hydra-headed security threats in the country.
“The security challenges of our contemporary time are hydra-headed, demanding that we come together, pull resources and expertise to fight our common enemy,” he added.
He further said that in the face of Nigeria’s diverse security threats, the corps recently conducted a seminar with the aim of proffering steps to achieving a safe country.
Audi said that the seminar featured discussion on conflict analysis, professionalism, ethical standards, conflict resolution, management, transformation and the role of human rights in security
