A day to the governorship election in Kogi State, the ruling All Progressives Congress has lost a major politician: Mohammed Danasabe, who was the Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area.
Danasabe died in the early hours of Friday at a Lokoja hospital during a brief illness.
His death came barely 24 hours after the governorship election in the state.
According to a family source, the deceased will be buried at the Unguwan Kura Muslim Cemetery after Juma’at prayer.
He’s survived by his mother, wife and children.

As the former sole Administrator of Lokoja Local Government, Mohammed Dan’asabe had in 2019 marked one hundred days in office with gift of motorbikes to APC ward chairmen, supporters and followers in appreciation of their support for backing him in his aspiration to become the substantive chairman in the forth coming election.
‘Blueprint’ then reported that he appreciated the ward chairmen and all party loyalists for their love and commitment to the party, particularly their cooperation with the party chairman, Bature at the local government level.
During the presentation of the motorbikes tom followers, Jimoh called on the beneficiaries to utilize the gifts and remain committed to the party.
The administrator thanked his principal, Governor Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve.
While commissioning the Adankolo Police Station vandalized by hoodlums and renovated by the chairman, the administrator stressed the importance of safety of lives and properties and the need for peaceful coexistence of people residing in Lokoja and its environs.
