“To Ifon and Ilobu people, I am appealing to you in the name of God from the throne of Oduduwa, because we are all the same and one race.”

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has appealed to indigenes of Ifon/Orolu in Irepodun Local Government Areas of Osun to give peace a chance over their land dispute.
Ooni made the appealed at a Press Conference in his Palace, on Friday, warning that there is no gain or benefit derived from the destruction of innocent lives and properties, especially during the time of economic downturn.
“To Ifon and Ilobu people, I am appealing to you in the name of God from the throne of Oduduwa, because we are all the same and one race.
“Please let us stop the killings and destruction of property. God hates killing and destruction of lives and resources that we cannot make,” Ooni appealed.
The Royal Father warned the youths of the two communities against the escalation of the crisis, but to be their brothers’ keepers.
Oba Ogunwusi charged all the authorities concern to intervene and caution their members to maintain peace and tranquility among each other.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the State Government had taken over the disputed land for peace to reign in the areas.
