Nollywood actor Tony Umez has expressed shock and anger at a rumour flying round that he is dead.
He said the tale was a lie, noting that it was so painful that it had caused his family trauma.
In a video on his official social media account, Umez appeared hale and hearty, assuring his fans and well-wishers that he is very much alive and in good health.
He said: “I want to address this thing that has been going on in the social media about my purported death. This was malicious, evil, wicked and despicable and it goes to show you the mindset of these people who would sit down and fashion out something, this cost my family, fans and well wishers serious trauma,” Tony said.
“So I want to state today September 5 that I Tony Umez is alive and kicking, nothing do me, I am good, very good and I want to sound a note of warning that we are coming for you and whatever you wish to me I wish you back a hundred fold, it is back to sender. God bless you.”
The false reports of his death sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and his fan base with many expressing concerns and disbelief.
However, Umez’s quick response and reassuring video message put an end to the unfounded rumours.
