There are indications that President Bola Tinubu has rewarded two former Governors – Nyeson Wike and Nasir el-Rufai, with ministerial appointment.
The duo payed major roles in his election, though Wike is in another party – the Peoples Democratic Party where he, however, leads the protestant G-5.
Wike and El-Rufai are, however, believed to be performing politicians beyond political contributions.
They are among the nominees that THE NATION reports are on the list Tinubu is said to have sent to the Senate.
Others are said to include legal luminary Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), eminent medical scholar, Ali Pate, who was former President Goodluck Jonathan’s Minister of State for Health; an economist Olawale Edun, banker Adebayo Adelabu, former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Mrs. Betta Edu, Senator Ben Ayade and eminent journalist Dele Alake, who is currently the Special Adviser on Media, Strategy and Special Duties.
It is understood that Tinubu sent the list to Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Thursday morning.
