Controversial artiste, Speed Darlington, has cried out over the increase in the price of petrol following the confirmation that subsidy had been removed by President Bola Tinubu.

The musician said he paid N5000 for 5 litres of fuel at a filling station.

Speed Darling has requested a referendum in Nigeria in view of the recent development.

Meanwhile, NNPCL boss, Mele Kyari, has said the subsidy had to go because the country was spending N400bn monthly on it.

He also said on Thursday that Tinubu has said he would make one of the refineries work before the end of 2023.

What Kyari did not, however, say is what has happened to all the money the FG has spent on the moribund dictionary.
