Big congrats to Iya Gbonkan, Yoruba veteran actress, as God has answered her biggest prayer for a car.

She had been acting for ages without a ride to show for it.

But after crying aloud recently, a great Samaritan came her way.

The actress whose real name is Magaret Bandele was blessed by a cleric, Gabriel Agbala, of the White Garment Church of Nigeria.

In a recent video, Pastor Gabriel is seen garnering over 700k for Iya Gbonkan during a live Facebook fundraising session. The result is that she now has a car.

Congrats. Congrats. Congrats.

A little unfortunately, this is coming at a time petrol price has jumped beyond the roof: N500 per litre, as against the N185 it used to be or even the eighty-something naira it was during the Jonathan era.

Too bad for motorists: it is also a time that the insurance parastatal got so drunk that it increased its rate from N5,000 to N15,000 – just for one impotent paper that does not save one in time of trouble.

The costs of the various oils have also ballooned, while snake-minded mechanics, ‘rewires’, panel beaters etc. are prowling around the corner. Of course, Iya Gbonkan’s car is neither brand new nor Tokunbo, with the latter having gone the reach of even many members of the middle class.

This is not to scare Iya Gbonkan, though: the God who provided the car will provide the fuel.

May God further enrich her and provide more opportunity for her to further enjy the fruits of her labour.
