Afrobeat star, Tiwa Savage, days ago announced that should would likely be going back to Brazil, just few hours after she arrived Nigeria from Brazil.
She got frustrated at the disruptions that subsidy removal and fuel hoarding have caused.
The question can, however, be asked: how much is fuel where she ‘came from’?
The reason is that it has been argued that petrol is far expensive in other climes.
A check by Phenomenal.com.ng puts the Brazilian experience thus: Gasoline Prices in Brazil decreased to 1.05 USD/Liter in May from 1.09 USD/Liter in April of 2023. (TRADING ECONOMICS).
Recall that for the past few days, Nigerians have been hit with a hike in price of petrol and even many celebrities have complained about it, with Tiwa not being an exemption.
Timaya, Tacha, Speed Darlington and others have criticised fuel sellers and station owners for hoarding fuel.
After experiencing the heat in Nigeria, Tiwa, who recently made headlines for some images she shot with an unknown man, has vowed to return to Brazil.
She claims that while her other car is still waiting in line for gas, she lost one of its tyres.
She wrote:
“Literally less than an hour back in naija and one of my car tyres gone. Other tire now in the queue for fuel. Issue with electricity in my house. I’m logging off and going back to where I came from because …. ”
