That is the tragic story of Francis Atabi, a final year student of the University of Calabar, who works part time as a Bolt driver, but was on Friday night killed by suspected carjackers at the Mary Slessor roundabout, Calabar, Cross River.
Sources, according to the News Agency of Nigeria, noted that the deceased, identified as Francis Atabi, had given the two suspected car snatchers a ride around 8pm when the incident occurred.
In the ensuing melee and struggle, the driver was said to have rammed his car into a security man when he lost control of driving.
As at the time of filing this report, the security man was also reported to have died at the hospital where he was rushed to in Calabar.
Meanwhile, the Cross River State Police Command have confirmed the incident and said investigation had already commenced into the matter.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Irene Ugbo, who disclosed this, assured that no stone would be left unturned in a bid to bring the perpetrators to book.
