Record Breaking Chef, Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has talked about the negative words and thoughts many had against her.
Hilda broke India’s Lata Tandon’s previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes by cooking continuously for 100 hours.
According to her, in her recent appearance on the ‘I Said What I Said Podcast’, some individuals did not approve of her quest to break the record because they believed she was “too blessed.”
She has not yet received Guinness World Records certification as her attempt is still being examined.
But Hilda claimed that many people were turned off by her attractiveness, talent, and personality.
“There were a lot of ‘It’s not fairs’, like, ‘How can only her be fine, be hot, ah ah. How can only her have all these things? That’s not how life is.”
On the speculations that she paid for publicity, she said: “The PR that we invested in, how much, how many was it? The kind of earned media that the attempt got, you can not pay for it. You can’t plan for it, you can’t pay it. It’s grace. You can only hope.”
