President Muhammadu Buhari has said that he has instructed his bank in Kaduna to send details of his account(s).
This is in preparatory to declaring his assets, post-eight-year- rule.
He disclosed this in Abuja on Friday when the Code of Conduct Bureau handed him the asset declaration form.
Buhari is usually presented as, and largely believed to be, clean – but many will be interested in seeing what has transpired in his bank volume or volumes, since 2015 when he declared he had some $150,000 in his personal account, with an impressive wealth of cows.
Besides, some have expressed the fear that some of Buhari’s men and women are corrupt, with further fear that they may have somehow infected him with the menace.
He has an opportunity to prove such skeptics wrong, some would say, probably by openly declaring his assets again balance to him.
Summary of other assets Buhari declared in 2015:
- Five homes and two mud houses, as well as farms
- An orchard and a ranch with 270 head of cattle,
- 25 sheep, five horses and a variety of birds
- Shares in three firms
- Two undeveloped plots of lands
- Bought two cars from his savings
