For mischievous memory gatekeepers, it may be a time to recall how two former great music allies ended the destiny of Mo’Hits as disagreement took the best part of them some 11 years ago.
The dissolution of the brand by excellent producer Don Jazzy and then reigning artiste D’Banj was one of the most talked-about musical divorces then.
Currently, Don Jazzy is celebrating the consolation/survival basket in which he put his destiny – Mavin Records. Many had feared for him, thinking that D’Banj’s departure might spell doom for Jazzy’s business. But he recharged other artistes on his labels while he recruited new ones. Some have fallen off the radar, but, today, he has emerged victorious from the forest of adversity as newer talents such as Rema and Ayra Starr have replenished his destiny.

D’Banj? He too has surely moved on and is doing well in other businesses. In music, however, his triumph does not seem to have lasted too long after leaving Jazzy. This may, however, be a story for another day because there is no guaranty that he would still be in form if Mo’Hits had remained.
Celebrating the 11th anniversary of Mo’Hits, Don Jazzy crooned in a post: “My baby is 11 today. They say time flies when you are having fun. I cannot believe it’s 11 years already cos trust me it feels like yesterday.
“The family keeps growing from strength to strength, breaking boundaries and impacting lives positively. All these won’t be possible without you the fans, our brand partners, friends and well wishers. Thank you so much for the love and support always.
“And to the best team in the world, thank you so much and stay relentless to the core. You know we are just getting started. Happy Birthday Mavin.”
