All cries and insinuations that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu would not be sworn in as Nigeria’s President have become history as the rite has been performed in Abuja.
The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, swore Tinubu in moments after the Vice President, Kasim Shettima, was sworn in.
There had been agitations, including court cases to stop him even after he had been declared winner of the election.
During the race, he suffered persecution even from within his party.
Many believe that the protracted strike by university lecturers, fuel scarcity and gruesome naira redesign and mopping were orchestrated to weaken his chances.
He, however, weathered the storm and defeated his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, who are still in court trying to stop him as they separately claim victory.
