All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for the confidence he has in him.
He promised Buhari on Tuesday that he would work hard for Nigeria the way Buhari worked hard for his candidacy.
Tinubu said this during the APC’s mega rally held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
He said:
You set our foot on the path to the future
You worked and achieved progress.
Yu said it is desirable for Nigeria must be great.
Yu said for anyone t succeed you, he or she must follow the law. Transparent.
You said the election must be transparent. Thank you, you followed the process.
The primary came, we waited anxiously and I won the poll.
You didn’t ask them to council it based upon my religion. You did not alter the result based on my tribe. You did not cancel the result because I was not your village in Daura.
Then you congratulated me.
I came to you for you to nominate for me the running mate. You said, ‘No. You know better You know Nigerians.
You encouraged me, and after than I announced to you having made my choice. I chose one of the most competent, independent in thought, with great knowledge and dependability. He has shown perseverance and capacity in terms of performance. During the Boko Haram crisis, Kassim Shettima didn’t falter. He faced the challenge. He worked hard. He worked his heart out. He protected both the Muslim faith and Christian faiths. He was determined to free the kidnapped girls. Kassim Shettima is a reliable, courageous and persevering man.
Today it is not a victory speech. You can have only on President at a time.

Mr President, I assure you, as you worked hard worked for me I will work hard for Nigeria.
All the ideals set in our agenda, Renewed Hope, will be pursued vigorously.
