A frontline aspirant for the number one office in Kogi State, Dr. Bolufemi Rotimi, has began the process of actualising his dream. He picked up the gubernatorial Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday.
Bolufemi accompanied by select fans and political associates picked the forms at Wadata Plaza, the PDP National Secretariat, in Abuja after paying the required fees.
About ten aspirants are said to have purchased the forms. Three of them are from Kogi West Senatorial District, a zone which have been agitating for power shift. The aspirants are Bolufemi, Senator Dino Melaye and former Deputy Governor, Abayomi Awoniyi.
Bolufemi, a Miner, has consistently said part of the trajectories of the state, is it’s leadership recruitment process which tend to favour politicians based outside the state. He said it is time the state looked inward and elect those who are familiar with its problems.
‘If the people give me their mandate, I will begin work without delay as I am familiar with our problems and needs. My vision is tailor made for the state as one who lives and works here.” He said
Bolufemi said he envisions home grown initiatives that will focus on education, solid mineral development, infrastructure, agriculture and health.
