Works Minister, Babatunde Fashola, has said that religious differences should not be a barrier to building good homes and the country.
According to him, his wife, Dame Abimbola Fashola, is a Christian while he is a Muslim but it has never caused any problem in their home.
“My wife is a Dame of Catholic church but she cooks for me during Muslim fasting. We all celebrate Christmas in our house. I have eight siblings and there are Christians among them,” he said during an interview on TVC on Thursday.
Fashola added that nation building should also not be based on religious sentiments, noting that it was wrong to read religious meanings to government policies, as some did when the Buhari government was taking SUKUK loans, saying it would islamise Nigeria.
He said the money is being used to construct 77 roads across the country.
