Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said that he has never touched allocations meant for local governments in the state.
He said this in reaction to a statement by President Muhammadu Buhari, who accused the governors ofcausing developmental handicap in the grassroots by grabbing funds belonging to council areas.
Wike, while inaugurating a network of roads on Friday, challenged President Buhari to name the culprits instead of lumping the governors together.
He said Buhari was a good leader whom, he believed, would come up with the clarification.
“I don’t know how much any local government gets as allocation. I, Nyesom Wike, has never and will never touch any Local Government’s money,” he said.
