No fewer than 14 passengers were burnt to death along Gaya-Wudil road in Kano State following on Sunday in an accident involving a Toyota Hummer bus and a Hyundai jeep.
The Kano FRSC Sector Commander, Zubairu Mato, confirmed the number of deaths on Tuesday.
This is as National Youth Service Corps member, Jameelat Yusuf, died in a motor accident in Nasarawa State on Friday.
According to reports, the Taraba State University graduate, who was serving in Abuja, died in the accident which occurred on Akwanga-Keffi road on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

On the Kano accident, Mato said road safety officials arrived at the scene of the accident that occurred at Rege Village by Antukuwani, on Kano-Gaya road at 7.45pm.
He explained that the bus with registration number, GML 102 TA belonging to Kano Line was coming from Gombe State when it collided with the jeep, at about 7.30pm on Sunday night.
He said, “Thirteen passengers were burnt to death on the spot with 6 others injured in the accident.”
It was gathered that one of the female passengers died on Monday morning at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital intensive care unit.
The FRSC commander attributed the accident to over-speeding and dangerous overtaking.
He, therefore, urged drivers to always ensure the use of speed limit device and avoid dangerous overtaking while driving on highways.
Meanwhile, Jameelat has since been buried according to Muslim burial rites in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa on Monday, November 7, 2022.
The Taraba State indigene had posted photos on her Facebook page three days ago and captioned it “Friday.”
Assistant Corps Marshal/Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Bisi Kazeem, who asked our correspondent to send a text message after a call was put across to him, promised to return the call but had yet to call back as of the time of filing this report.
