– Canelo Alvarez has called Sergio Aguero a “hypocrite b*****d” after the former Manchester City and Barcelona forward jumped to the defence of compatriot Lionel Messi.
– It all kicked off on Saturday night when footage emerged of Messi appearing to accidentally kick a Mexico shirt across the dressing room floor after Argentina’s crucial World Cup win against Gerardo Martino’s side.
– After the clip went viral, four-weight world champion Canelo, a proud Mexican, took to social media to threaten the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Messi was clearly just taking his boots off, what’s all this exaggeration by Canelo 😂😂pic.twitter.com/GtoCpHujaw

– He tweeted: “Did you guys see Messi cleaning the floor with our jersey and flag. He better pray to God that I don’t find him. Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico!
– “I’m not talking about the country as a whole, just about the bulls**t that Messi did.”
Así como respeto Argentina tiene que respetar mexico!! no hablo del país(argentina) hablo de messi por su mamada que hizo. 👊🏻🔥

– Canelo’s post was criticised by many, including former Argentina international Sergio Aguero, who defended his friend.
– “Mr. Canelo, don’t look for excuses or problems, surely you don’t know about soccer and what happens in a locker room,” Aguero wrote on Twitter.
– “The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the boot and accidentally hits it.”

– The Mexican has since responded with an explosive post, saying: “You too, b******? You used to write me, ‘oh, oh, Canelo’, and now you’re crying. Don’t be a hypocrite, b******.”
Tu también cabron… me escribías ay ay canelo y ahora mamando no seas hipócrita cabron. https://t.co/VzLCG43asc

– After the tweet went viral, another former teammate of Messi, Cesc Fabregas, jumped to the defence of his mate.
– “You neither know the person, nor do you understand how a dressing room works or what happens after a game,” the Spaniard tweeted.
– “ALL t-shirts, even the ones we wear ourselves, go on the floor and are washed afterwards. And more when you celebrate an important victory.”

– Canelo is clearly infuriated by Messi’s actions, whether they were accidental or not. The 32-year-old even reacted to a fake Instagram post from the player’s Instagram account, saying: “HDP” which means son of a b**** in Spanish.
