Leader of the Afenifere, Pa Ayo Fasoranti, has said that he and another patriarch of the Yoruba socio-cultural/political organisation, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, have taken different stands on the candidacy of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to him, Tinubu has been accepted and endorsed by him and the Afenifere vis a vis Yorubas, as demonstrated by the reception accorded him when he (Fasoranti) and other leaders hosted Tinubu in Akure, Ondo State, two days ago.

He said, “I am still the leader of the Afenifere. We are not endorsing Obi. We are endorsing Jagaban (Tinubu), as you can see the trend, the following, the approval and acceptability you saw yesterday when we hosted him.
“Can he (Adebanjo) warn me (not to host Tinubu)? Can he do that successfully. He never warned me. He took a stand and I took a stand. I didn’t call him. He didn’t call me. We didn’t speak about it.
Adebanjo is endorsing Obi.
“As you could see yesterday, it goes without saying that Jagaban is accepted and we approved of it. Obi has no stand in our minds at all.”
