Wike endorses Sanwo-Olu for second term as Lagos governor dismisses Lagos-for-Lagos opposition

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has endorsed his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for second term in office.
As the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Gboyega Akosile, noted in a statement, Wike endorsed him on Tuesday when he (Wike) appeared as the guest of honour at the conference of wives of Lagos State government officials.
The outspoken Wike, whom Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu – wife of the Lagos State Governor – described as ‘the only Governor that peppers them’ at the event, said he based the endorsement on Governor Sanwo-Olu’s outstanding performance.
Earlier in his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu had also called for a phenomenal applause for Wike, saying he was an impactful politician.
This is as Sanwo-Olu berated the opposition in Lagos, who are promoting the philosophy of ‘Lagos for Lagos’, saying it was anti-climatic based on the central, Lagos-for-all the highly commercial state is famous for.
He said, “They want to reap where they did not sow. They want to reap where they did not plant. Lagos is for all. We are together. Lagos will continue to give us all hope,” he said.
He saluted the women profusely, saying they were central to the continual development of the state as well as the country.
Sanwo-Olu then challenged them to work hard for the success of the party during the upcoming election.
“Organise yourself. Identify yourselves and ensure at least 20 people are following you. Ensure not only your beloved Governor gets re-elected, but also vote for the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu presidency that will change things. Go out there and show that we are Lagos,” he said.
