The Kogi State House of Assembly, located in Crusher area of Lokoja, the State capital, has been razed down by a mysterious fire. The fire was noticed on Monday morning.
It was gathered that the fire may have started at night, but security men on duty only became aware of it in the morning.
The chamber was razed down completely. The roof, chairs, tables and items were licked by the fire.
Speaker of the House, Prince Mathew Kolawole and the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara were among the early callers at the complex.
Kolawole said he suspects sabotage but fell short of where the suspected sabotage might be from.
Asked whether it might be linked to the recent probe of Dangote group by the lawmakers, he said the security Agencies will determine that, after investigation.
“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.
However, a source who does not want his name in print said he suspected an explosion but couldn’t say who might be responsible.
