Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has ‘renamed’ his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, ‘Mr Quality Projects’.
Wike’s epaulet had been ‘Mr Projects’, based on how he was said to have been developing infrastructure in his state.
But on Wednsday Makinde had cause to rebaptise him during the inauguration of the Emuoha campus of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
Makinde was Wike’s guest of honour, with both being allies especially in their Peoples Democratic Party battles.
He said Wike had been so productive that he deserved to move from being called Mr Projects to Mr Quality Projects.
While noting how he too had not only secured Oyo State the sole ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, but also turned it into a multi-campus one, Makinde marvelled at the pace Wike built the Emuoha campus.
He said, My fellow PDP children.
Makinde said, “I have something to take away. I am going to ask my brother: How have you been able to do it in one year. That will be a lesson I will take back. My brother can rest assured that Nigeria appreciates him. Even the fight that we lost, we did not lose with our heads bowed. We lost knowing we stood for the truth and what is good for this country.
Aluta continua. We will continue to fight for our space within PDP, to ensure what is due to our people is given to them.
They call my brother Mr Project. It is an understatement. I will rechristen him Mr Quality Project.”
