Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that no one can buy him with money.
He said this on Tuesday while establishing the essence of his ongoing battles with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party and his permutations and romance with other parties.
According to him, his interest is about what accrues to Rivers State, adding that it was nt personal.
He said, “Show me one federal project that has been established in Rivers State. There is nothing any of them can do for me and nobody can buy me. I am not going to look for any appointment at the federal level. Have I not been a minister before? If you can’t tell me what my state will get, then forget our friendship.”
Wike said thus during the commissioning of the Etche satellite campus of the Rivers State University.
“Many of them who left this party are today calling us boys. The boys that stayed, and they that founded the party and left. They have chased us, they have fought us but today we are standing strong in this state. Those who cannot even win an ordinary polling unit want to sit in Abuja to determine what will happen in Rivers.”
Wike has particularly been at war with the PDP’s Chairman, Iyorcha Ayu, who, he insists, must resign for another chairman to emerge from the South since the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is from the North.
