Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described the Peoples Democratic Party’s Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, as a prodigal father.
It is his reaction to Ayu’s admonition of him, as the chairman said Wike was a small boy when he (Ayu) and other people were forming the party.
Wike is leading the crusade that Ayu must leave office since he is a northerner like the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
But speaking on the matter on Wednesday, Ayu said those calling for his resignation or removal were kids when the party was being formed.
Reacting on Thursday, Wike branded him as a prodigal father, when inaugurating a road network in Port Harcourt.
He said, “If I am a small boy, then he is a prodigal father,” adding that after Ayu had just being elected, he used to call him ‘my brother’ while thanking him for the role he played in his emergence.
Wike is insisting Ayu go as a condition for supporting Atiku.
