The Olomu of Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara, Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, has denied asking the APC not to come for campaign in his domain.
The traditional ruler dissociated himself, Olomu-in-council and people of the ancient town from a purported voice message in circulation, asking the APC not to come to the community for political campaign.
Oba Adeoti in a statement by the spokesperson of Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA), Mr Yinka Owolewa, on Tuesday in Omu-Aran, said he had not restricted any political party from coming to campaign in the ancient town.
The traditional ruler urged members of the public to disregard the purported voice message, saying the unknown originator of the audio remained an enemy of peace, attempting to disrupt the existing peaceful coexistence in the community.
Adeoti said he had directed members of the Olomu-in-council and ODA to investigate the matter and unravel the person behind the unfortunate audio, with a view to punishing the unscrupulous element in line with the law.
The traditional ruler, who described himself as a father to all, said all political parties were welcomed to campaign in Omu-Aran when the campaigns kicked off.
According to Oba Adeoti, through such inglorious act, the unscrupulous element behind the audio is attempting to cast aspersion on the integrity of his council and community.
The traditional ruler said he was happy with the giant strides of Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, since the begining of his administration, adding that Omu-Aran had felt his good governance.
Oba Adeoti noted that AbdulRazaq’s administration had seen to it that more roads were tarred in the community, refurbishing the Omu-Aran High Court, as well as the rebuilding of the primary school in the town.
Also, the ODA President, Maj.-Gen Lasisi Abidoye (rtd.), admonished members of the community to desist from anything capable of truncating the existing love in the town.
He said the ODA was in full support of Gov. AbdulRasaq’s administration, because he always listened to their demands.
Abidoye urged members of the community to always ensure they channelled their complaints to the appropriate quarters rather than resulting to personal attack.
He urged members of the public to disregard all the messages in the audio, adding that it was only the Olomu of Omu-Aran, the Olomu-in-Council and the ODA that have such authority to speak for the community.
