At a time the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has again been wooing the Peoples Democratic Party governors unhappy battling the party (PDP), its Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, has returned to Nigeria after a two weeks’ trip abroad.

Rivers State Governor Nyeson Wike and his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, want Ayo to resign to pave the way for a southerner, but Ayu and other leadership of the party say no.

Obi separately visited the duo again on Friday, with both parties not however giving details.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Ayu on Media, Mr Simon Imobo-Tswam, disclosed this in a statement he issued on Friday in Abuja.

Imobo-Tswam said that Ayu, who jetted out of the country on Sept. 14 returned to Abuja via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, at about 7pm.

It is recalled that Ayu had handed over to the party’s Deputy Chairman (North), Amb. Iliya Damagun, and communicated the handover to the Independent National Electoral Commission
