Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has described the state as an asset to Nigeria’s politics.
Besides, he said, he was not a liability to his Peoples Democratic Party.
Wike said this on Tuesday while inaugurating the Presidential Lounge of the international airport at Port Harcourt.
According to him, he has continued to commission projects so as to speak practically on his success.
He urged those fighting him in his party to also focus on performance, rather than carrying rumours about hm.
Wike said, “I am not a theoretical politician. I am a practical politician. They will sit down in Abuja spreading rumours about Wike. Wike did this, Wike did that. A party that wants to win election cannot be carrying rumours. I am not a liability. Rivers is an asset.”
The governor added that his government would maintain the facility.
“If you ask them to manage this, come back in seven months, you will feel sorry,” he added.
Wike is happy that the contractor, a local one, performed excellently.
He however spoke about another local contractor whom he paid 100 per cent but refused to work.
He ordered his commissioner to arrest the chap.
