The recent visit of the All Progressives Congress’ presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to former President Olusegun Obasanjo is taking a new twist.
Obasanjo is angry over claims being made by those at the meeting.
According to him, they are not doing Tinubu any good based on reports they are giving.
One of them, Femi Gbajabamila, House of Representatives Speaker, had claimed that there was hope for Tinubu based on what transpired at the meeting.
But Obasanjo, who had also joked about the visit, recalling how he aked Tinubu about his ‘Emi lokan’ statement, noted on Saturday that he had not given Tinubu a nod.
He said in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Saturday, “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”
