Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said that he is ready to hate whoever hates him.
He spoke in Port Harcourt again in apparent response to his rift with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party.
There is no love lost between him and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, over the choice of his running mate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
While commissioning a flyover in the city on Thursday, Wike said that nobody could take him and Rivers people for granted.
He said those who believed he mattered must meet him in the state.
According to him, Rivers has the population and political power that must command active attention.
He said, “If you fall for me, I will fall for you. If you hate me, I will hate you. If you love Rivers State, Rivers people will love you. We are not a state you can take for granted. This local government (Ikwerre) alone boasts 600,000 votes.
“I know it takes for a candidate to win. Me, I don’t want to meet anybody but they must know us here. They must come. They can’t take 3.2 votes of Rivers State just like that. Are we Father Christmas?”
