If Kate Henshaw thought she was on a film set when she went to the market hours ago to buy some foodstuff, a yam seller reminded her she was not.

The guy taught her that Nigerian economy is not joking, and is not any friendly indeed.

Here is a country where inflation, insecurity, fuel scarcity, epileptic electricity and everything uncertain appear to have dislodged government from governance.

She is thus sadly sharing in the tough feelings of the common Nigerian people.

In a recent tweet, she shares how she went to the market; but to her utmost surprise, prices have hit the sky.

According to her, a tuber of yam was said to cost 3,000, but she tried pricing it down to 1,500.

She says the seller simply walked away.

She goes ahead to question people how they cope this tough season.
Kate writes:
“A tuber of yam 3000 naira.

Whosai & the seller walked away..
