Seasoned actress, Ada Ameh, has said that it is not possible for her to be discussing the collapse of the marriage of fellow actress, Funke Akindele.
Funke’s husband, Rasheed Bello, aka JJC Skillz, announced their separation in a statement on Thursday, shocking all and sundry.
Many people have been talking about this, with some speculating that power and financial issues led to the break-up.
But Ada’s perspective is that she finds it impossible to talk about the development based on how close Funke is to her and how tough the kind of situation she (Funke) is.
Ada, indeed, practically halted a discussion of the separation on ‘Your View’ programme on TVC on Friday morning, when she was hosted by Morayo and her team.
She declared, “I don’t like discussing this kind of issues. I am pained. Funke is like my younger sister. In fact, she is. If any of us had been heartbroken before, she would know what it means. It is very easy to talk about it. If you had been in the position before, you k ow how it feels.”
Announcing the separation, JJC Skillz had said:
“Dear Friends and family, I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted, we shared many things and have created two beautiful children.
“The last two years have been tough for us. I have tried my best to fix things, but I believe it is beyond repair. 3 months ago and at Funke’s insistence, I moved out of the house and, apart from AMVCA, have not been able to get Funke to sit down amicably to discuss the future of our relationship.”
“I’m making this announcement, so the public knows we are both pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed, such as the custody and wellbeing of our children, which is paramount, and business interests that need to be disentangled, but I do not doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other.”
