Yemi Solade
Actor Yei Solade has said that there is nothing like ‘Yoruba film industry’.
According to him, what exists is the Nigerian film industry that does not need being partitioned.
Solade stated this when he was recently hosted by the ‘Your View’ crew on TVC.
He said he always rejected being tagged along the ethnic line, saying he was an actor, a professional one relevant in every area.
“When someone introduces me as a Yoruba actor, I say, ‘’No. I am an actor.”
He recalled that the Theatre and Motion Picturers Practitioners Association of Nigeria was conceived to be a national body. But was hijacked along the line.

“ I am the pioneer President of TAMPAN. I left office in 2018. I sought to make it an umbrella body for all in Nigerian practitioners. But because it came out from here, practitioners hijacked and Yorubanised it.”
