Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has described Nigeria’s political and socio-economic situation as a case where lunatics have taken over the asylum.

He says the level of impunity in political circles, especially among political office holders, is abominable.

He, however, notes that other sectors, including churches are not left out.

In a viral video, he says, “There is cancer everywhere, including the churches, because they also celebrate graft.”

He adds that when a politician steals money and build mansions, the clerics join him to celebrate without asking where he got the money from.

He notes that the problem of Nigeria is not about religious division, saying people are affected by the situation whether Muslims or Christians.

“There is no market where they sell bread for Muslims alone. There is no road built for Muslims alone,” he says.

Obi laments that people share dollars without anybody asking where they get it from – especially politicians.

“Nigeria has been dolarised. Those we voted into power have no means of earning dollars, but nobody asks they where they get the dollars from.”
