The bishops and other clerics who attended the unveiling of Alhaji Kashim Shettima as the running mate of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu have started fighting back.
They have been widely criticised and mocked, with Christian leaders and other critics disowning and calling them fake.
They have, however, shown their faces to show that they are not fake, while condemning the ‘insult on our person, and ‘abuse and threats against our lives’.
They addressed a press conference on Sunday, with their spokesperson, Ugochukwu Prince, saying they attended the event on their own volition in solidarity with Shettima who, they said, was very good to Christians when he was Borno State governor.
“We chose to, in our sincere desire, support a man whose tenure as governor of Borno gave unprecedented support to Christians,” Prince said.
