President Muhammadu Buhari has punctured the philosophy of insurgents who say they are killing on behalf of God.

Such folks are quick to locate one verse or the other in the Quran, saying the Prophet commands so.

The Boko Haram is also believed to be operating in this realm although their activities have sparked puzzle over what their real intent is.

Speaking in Kigali, Rwanda, on Thursday, however, Buhari punctured the perception, saying God is justice and not a God of such killings.

Speaking during the Commonwealth programme holding there, he said, on the Boko Haram insurgency there was serious effort to educate the people to know they cannot kill innocent people and say Allah Akbar (God is Great).

“God is justice. You can’t take innocent souls and ascribe it to God. The education process is working. The people now understand Boko Haram as anti-God and not about religion.”
