The All Progressives Congress search for the presidential candidate has got more intriguing as one of his ‘core opponents’, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has stepped down for him.
Fayemi, the Ekiti State Governor, announced his decision on Tuesday night at the convention.
Fayemi is known to have been nursing the ambition to contest for long.
He announced his withdrawal while addressing delegates at the APC Special National Convention on Tuesday in Abuja.
He directed his supporters to vote for Tinubu.
His withdrawal from the race comes on the heels of similar decisions by other South-West aspirants like Godwill Apkabio and Ibikunle Amosun.
With the moves, the coast seems to have become cleaner for Tinubu.
