Veteran musician, Friday Igwe, popularly known as ” Baba Fryo”, has un-bosomed his mind concerning Nigeria’s 2023 election.

He is not waxing partisan nor critical, though.

Rather, the ‘Dem go dey pose’ singer on Friday called on religious leaders across the nation to intensify prayers for a seamless electoral process in 2023.

He said it was high time religious leaders jettisoned their denominational differences and come together to unanimously pray for the success of the forthcoming elections.

According to him, this is important to ensure free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.

The News Agency of Nigeria quoted him as saying, “Religious leaders across the nation, regardless of their denomination need to come together and pray for the success of the forthcoming 2023 elections.
“This is important because the peace of the nation must be put on the front burner.

“As a nation, we do not need to kill or hurt one another, we should pray that God picks the right leaders for us all,” he said.
Igwe also advised the youths to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid being used as political thugs in the forthcoming election.

Baba Fryo is decribed as a Nigerian Ghetto singer from Ajegunle.

He is known for releasing street songs, with his most popular song titled “Dem go dey pose”, which he released in the late 1990s.

The song was written in Nigerian Pidgin, to become popular with a dancing style, known as Galala, invented by legendary Baba Fryo and his Ajegunle music colleagues such as Daddy Fresh, Daddy Showkey.

Baba Fryo said in 2017 that he wished he married a woman who is also in the showbiz business.

He lamented that had he married to a celebrity like himself, his career wouldn’t have declined as it did because the wife would have raised his career as well. He however said much hard work has brought him back up on his ‘feet’.
